Wacker Química do Brasil Ltda., WACKER’s South American subsidiary, was established in 1977. It is located in Jandira, Brazil, 35 km northwest of São Paulo. The 21,000 square meter site not only comprises local sales and marketing, but also is home to an own silicone production facility. Among the products manufactured in Jandira are silicone fluids, emulsions, defoamers, resins and rubbers as well as several personal care products. Key markets for these products are the construction, automotive, coating, pulp and paper industry, the chemical and the process industry, cosmetics and health care as well as the power and the electro/electronic industry.
WACKER is an independent, globally active company that manufactures and sells chemical products and engages in intensive scientific research. A leader in its core businesses – semiconductors, polysilicon, polymers/specialty chemicals and silicones – WACKER forges ahead with innovative chemistry and new technologies, supplying solutions that are market-oriented, energy-saving and environmentally compatible.
Our strengths lie in our leading-edge technologies and products and above all in our highly trained and strongly motivated employees, whose health and well-being are vital factors for both their commitment and performance. They are aware of the concerns and needs of the communities and environments in which our company operates. They are results-oriented and responsible. Their decisive role in ensuring that we reach our objectives is the basis for the company's ongoing success.
We use our Integrated Management System for quality, health, safety and environmental protection as a means of achieving continuous improvements in our performance and all our activities.
Product and service quality has absolute priority. Our strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction is essential to our success.
Health, safety and environmental protection must be guaranteed at all times. We are fully committed to sustainable development, a principle that is an integral part of our business thinking and practices. We attach equal weight to economic, environmental and social concerns.
We participate actively in the worldwide Responsible Care® program, striving for continuous performance improvements in quality, health, safety and environmental protection. We adhere strictly to legal standards and regulations and to our own supplementary policy rules.
These commitments form the basis of our business principles:
All our employees share the responsibility for quality, health, safety and environmental protection, as well as for ongoing improvements in these areas. This is achieved by regularly setting targets and ensuring that they are met.
Worldwide, we supply only superior products that can be distributed, used and disposed of safely and in an environmentally compatible way.
We continually expand our knowledge about our existing and new products, adjusting our health, safety and environmental protection measures to incorporate any new insights.
We guarantee the safe handling of products and residues in our manufacturing processes. We minimize resource consumption, emissions and waste.
Generally speaking, it is the responsibility of employees to look after their health. We can help them meet this goal by introducing measures and programs that promote, maintain and restore health.
We work to persuade our business associates to adopt our standards for quality, health, safety and environmental protection. We insist that all subcontractors working at Wacker-Chemie locations adhere to our policy rules.
We attach the utmost importance to continuous improvements to the safety of our sites. We continually enhance workplace and process safety and occupational health. We take proactive measures to eliminate potential risks and practice effective risk management.
We create and promote a climate of mutual trust through ongoing open dialog with our employees, customers and suppliers, as well as with our neighbors, the authorities and the general public.
We observe legal regulations. The relevant procedures to be followed and the way we set and implement our own supplementary standards are described in our Integrated Management System for quality, health, safety and environmental protection. This system is based on standards with worldwide validity and takes customer needs fully into account.
Basic and advanced training is an important tool for fostering our employees' awareness of the importance of observing Wacker-Chemie's business principles.
Our commitments and business principles are an expression of what we value. Our corporate vision is to:
be a preferred business partner for our customers,
create a pleasant working environment for our employees, and
meet our responsibilities to society.
